Solea’s vineyard of origin is Pira, a historical mention of Castiglione Falletto. Pira faces southeast on the Serralunga and Perno slopes. The vineyard grew out of the breakup of the Rocche.
Wine Origin: Roagna Solea Langhe 2019 DOC has its roots in the Pira vineyard, a historical mention in Castiglione Falletto. Positioned on the slopes of Serralunga and Perno, Pira extends to the southeast, benefiting from excellent exposure. Purchased in 1989, this vineyard was transformed into a geographical monopoly mention of the Roagna family.
Vinification and Harvest: Harvesting is done carefully in September on a single day to ensure perfect physiological ripeness. The grapes, harvested by hand in small crates, undergo two manual selections to ensure the integrity of the fruit before crushing. Fermentation takes place in wooden vats thanks to a pied de cuve of indigenous yeasts, protracted for about ten days.
Aging and Limited Production: After fermentation, the wine ages for about two years in neutral oak barrels, capturing the authenticity of Pira’s terroir. Production is extremely limited, with only 1500-2000 bottles per vintage. Each bottle is numbered, a testament to the Roagna family’s dedication and attention to detail.
Tasting Notes: Roagna Solea Langhe 2019 DOC is a celebration of balance and authenticity. On the nose, floral, fruity and spicy notes can be perceived, anticipating a rich and complex palate. Ripe fruits blend with spicy accents, offering an extraordinary sensory experience. In the finish, elegant harmonies persist, leaving an indelible mark on the taster’s memory.
A Unique Bottle: Each bottle of Roagna Solea Langhe 2019 DOC is a unique work of art, a reflection of the Roagna family’s passion and commitment to creating wines that capture the soul of the Piedmont region. With such limited production, each sip is a journey into the heart of the Langhe, an unforgettable experience to share with discerning wine lovers.
