Coming from a typical and characteristic Sicilian grape blend, this elegant and structured wine embodies the very essence of its land of origin, to which it is dedicated. Frappato is revealed in this modern rosé version, bringing out the best characteristics of this variety and giving a riot of aromas and flavors that evoke the native colors and scents of Trinacria.

CHARACTERISTICS:

  • TERRITORY: south-central Sicily.
  • CLASSIFICATION: D.O.C.
  • GRAPE VINE: Pure Frappato.
  • SOIL: Clay-limestone.
  • VINEYARD ALTIMETRY: 400 m above sea level.
  • EXPOSURE: South-southwest.
  • FARMING: Espalier-trained vineyards with a vine density of 4,500 vines per hectare.
  • YIELD: 80 q/ha.

WINE-MAKING AND REFINING: Grapes are hand-picked early in the morning in September to preserve their aromatic complement. After destemming and temperature chilling, a press maceration follows. The must is cold decanted and fermented in stainless steel at a controlled temperature. After fermentation, the wine matures in contact with fine lees before bottling. Ages for 2-3 months in bottle before marketing.

SENSORY DESCRIPTION: A soft pink in the glass, it has fresh, complex aromas with fruity and floral notes and a subtle mineral component. In the mouth, it shows good structure balanced by freshness and savoriness. The finish is long and consistent with the aromatic notes perceived on the nose.

PAIRINGS: Versatile in pairings, it goes well with both seafood and meat dishes, such as busiata with eggplant and swordfish or fettuccine with porcini mushrooms.

SERVING TEMPERATURE: 12-14°C.
ALCOHOL GRADATION: 13% vol.
